Patients who are treated with spinal decompression therapy for herniated disc, in my clinic, are first treated with ultrasound to heat up the connective tissue. This heating up process allows the decompression therapy to be more effective.

Patients with herniated disc of the lower back (lumbar spine) are treated either face up or face down on a table.

A cable from a computerized traction head is attached with a clip the lower harness. Then the pelvic portion of the table is released to allow sliding giving the decompression effect.

The computer traction head is programmed, for example, 50 pounds of traction for 45 seconds and then releases to 20 pounds traction for 25 seconds. Length of treatment is usually 10-15 minutes but is customized to the patient’s needs and comfort. Lumbar spinal decompression initially starts with about 30% of the patient’s weight and is increased to the patients comfort. However, the pounds of traction is limited to 90 pounds at the upper end. More traction is not always better. Rather the least amount of traction that cause the best result is the best choice.

Patients with herniated disc of the cervical spine starts with the patient lying flat of their back with their head in a sliding carriage that has two cushions placed below the base of the skull. Once the two cushions are tightened snugly around the sides of the neck, the patient’s head is strapped down to help keep the patient’s head in place so not interrupt the patient’s treatment.

Traction can be started with a pull tension of 15 pound but never to exceed 40 pounds of pressure. The pull pattern most often in the neck is 45 seconds of holding traction and relaxes to a resting traction 5 pounds of pressure for 25 seconds. Again treatment time is 10-15 minutes.

Patients treated with spinal decompression should allow for 30 minutes of treatment time in the clinic for one area and 45 minutes for both lower back and neck treatments.

Remember, spinal decompression is 1) extremely safe, 2) likely effective, 3) cleared by the FDA, 4) non-surgical, and 5) affordable.

If you want to know how to get safe herniated disc relief with Chiropractic in Round Rock, TX, you may want to visit your local Round Rock chiropractor in his offices or on his website. Knowing that there is a natural alternative for back pain is welcome news for all back pain sufferers.

Take a good look at a picture or x-ray of a properly aligned human spine. When you look at it from the back, it is perfectly straight. When you look at it sideways, it has natural curvature. We don’t give spinal alignment a second thought until it becomes mis-aligned. Only then do we realize how vitally important a healthy spine is.

Zoom in on the spine and notice how nature has exquisitely engineered it for flexibility by stacking 24 vertebrae and separating them with fluid-filled discs. The spine is truly an amazing mechanism, but, just as any other mechanism, things can go wrong.

When spinal misalignment occurs for any reason, the disc can herniate, or bulge out from its proper position. When it does so, it can press against the large rope of nerves called the sciatic nerve. The pain this causes can be excruciating.

There are many ways in which doctors and chiropractors try to relieve the pain associated with herniated discs. The first thing a physician may do is prescribe pain killers to give you temporary relief. Later, you might be advised to undergo a surgical procedure and have the disc removed and the two discs fused together.

Depending on your personal condition, your chiropractor may be able to give you a non-invasive procedure known as Spinal Decompression. Using this technique, he is able to gently relieve the pressure exerted by the vertebrae on the disc.

If you live in the Round Rock, Texas area and are experiencing back pain, pay your Round Rock Chiropractor a visit and see what he can do to help you. Your spinal alignment is too important to neglect. He can provide you with preventive care as well as safe herniated disc relief with chiropractic in Round Rock, TX.

Most people do not know what chiropractors are and so whenever they face some back problems, they call upon a regular doctor for help. However, chiropractors are in reality, doctors, specially trained for treating all types of back problems. Thus a patient, who resides in Philadelphia and is in pain, should go to a Philadelphia Chiropractor for getting help.

The work of the chiropractor is to use different modes of manipulations so that the body gets rid of the pain which occurs whenever the normal process of the nervous system and the message process get disrupted due to some reason.

For conducting the healing process, a Philadelphia Chiropractor will first examine the patient, find out the problem and then prescribe the course of the healing method. He assures there is no reoccurrence of the problem. The reasons for the problem are mainly five in number, which are; dislocation of the vertebrae, release of chemicals by the body, tightening of the soft tissues, muscle spasms and interference of the fibers of the nerve.

During the process, chiropractic adjustments are made in the spine to fix the disorder. The adjustment slowly reestablishes the communication between the nerves or cells once again. Usually the patients get well after the first adjustment, but a few may take some time.

The chiropractic healing doesn’t exclusively involve only manual manipulations. This form is nevertheless virtually the most popular method and is employed ninety percent of the time. The chiropractor can also employ a lot of other methods such as rub down, exercises, dieting, life-style modifications etc.

Therefore, you should know that chiropractors are doctors in the real sense and they have also attended the medical colleges just like regular doctors. Thus, those people of Philadelphia who have a dislocation misalignment in their spinal column should invariably visit a Philadelphia Chiropractor for finding out a solution to their problems.

A Philadelphia chiropractor has the expertise and experience to make a difference in your pain level. More information about the spine and how it works can be found at http://robertsfamilychiro.com .
